These are two of the questions at the heart of the Awakening the Dreamer, Changing the Dream Symposium.

The Symposium is a profound inquiry into a bold vision: to bring forth an environmentally sustainable, spiritually fulfilling, and socially just human presence on Earth.

WHY SHOULD YOU TAKE THE TIME

By attending the Symposium, you will come together with conscious, aware people who care about what's happening in the world, our communities and with our families. We'll look at our biggest challenges and opportunities today:

* The state of our industrial world and the thinking that got us where we are today
* A new dream - new ideas about what really matters - leading to deep connection and surprising solutions
* How you can be part of what's emerging - because you already are!

Participants will explore our culture and how it contributes to these problems in a workshop that uses inspiring video, up-to-the-minute facts and figures and dynamic group interaction. We’ll hear from some of the world’s leading experts on topics as diverse as the current state of the Earth’s biodiversity and the reality of socio-economic disparity throughout the world.

AN EMPOWERING NEW VISION

This is a unique opportunity to share your concerns about the state of the world with like-minded members of your community, and offer support to each other in taking steps to effect the changes that you wish to see.

Rather than feel paralyzed by the scope of our global crises, participants will leave the Symposium empowered to take clear steps to embody their vision for a better world, and having established new connections to work with others in the community on common issues.

ABOUT THE SYMPOSIUM

The Awakening the Dreamer, Changing the Dream Symposium is an initiative of The Pachamama Alliance, a San Francisco-based non-profit whose mission is to preserve the Earth’s tropical rainforests by empowering the indigenous peoples who are its custodians, and to contribute to the creation of a new global vision of equity and sustainability for all.

The vision of the initiative is to generate widespread awakening at the grassroots level that leads to a transformation of our worldview, such that humanity becomes committed to restoring and protecting the environment and moves towards social justice and spiritual fulfillment. The Symposium is already offered around the world and was recently offered at the United Nations.
