There is so much going on - so fast - we just don't have time to blog about it here. Gardens in the schools and neighborhoods, solar on roofs and in schools, water conservation and ecotourism, community-building, education for sustainability - the list keeps growing.

Our Spring Planting Festival was great. We are also working on an ecotourism initiative and collaborating with groups across the Verde Valley.

This process is really taking off worldwide. There were tons of people at the webinars on Transition Towns - including several from around Arizona. The magazine YES has an entire issue dedicated to resilient communities: http://www.yesmagazine.org/issues/a-resilient-community/crash-cours...
Gardens for Humanity and Verde Food Council are doing good work. The SEDI education initiative has garden projects in 10 schools around Flagstaff.
Mitzvah Day is coming up in Sedona - Sunday, November 14 at noon. Sustainable Arizona will lead a group to go through parts of the community informing people of the free energy retrofits available through NACOG - helping them reduce energy use and save some money. Our solar tour was a success with 10 sites showing off both passive and active solar installations. There's a lot more going on. Let's keep sharing the news.

Thanks, Les! This is something communities can do so we can learn from our neighbors. It is encouraging that so many people are doing so much that doesn't get noticed. A source for community education and optimism!
