A group has been meeting since September to explore the possibility of establishing an ecovillage (the first in New Jersey) on a 180-acre parcel of land in Warren County. Our fourth meeting will be held at the proposed site next Sunday afternoon (Dec. 6) starting at 2:00pm.
The land is on the top of a bucolic hill, but it has good proximity to nearby Washington Township, Routes 31 and 46, and Interstates 78, 80, and 287 -- so travel time is under-an-hour to Newark Airport, the NJ Turnpike, the Holland Tunnel, and most points in the northern and central parts of the state.
The plan is to build very green residences with all the neighborhood amenities offered by a cohousing community. There is room for an organic farm on the property, a retreat center, recreation facilities, possibly an educational center. Contact me if you're interested in seeing the land, attending a meeting, or getting more information.

I've been active with a group of people interested in creating an ecovillage in New Jersey. We have a parcel of 180 acres of land available to us in Warren County. The ecovillage could include a cohousing neighborhood of 30+ units, an organic farm, retreat and education centers. Our next meeting will be held December 6. Let me know if you'd like to attend.
