Hello all. There is a new group started by Duane Elgin called Transition Television and it deals with the idea that Public Access Television is a grand resource that is openly available, for free, to the public at large. Cable companies are trying to have it eradicated in some states, a fight worth paying attention to, but for the most part we all have public access tv.
Anyways, what sort of little film projects could you guys undertake in order to begin creating Transition related content that can be used by any other group for local Public Access Television?
Many of us will produce stuff locally as well as airing documentaries, but some of us may not have either the time, ability, or ideas to create their own video content. If there is an cache of well produced Transition footage out there, and growing all the time, we will never run out of material to air locally on the television.
Just think about it, Transition related content becoming a staple on local cable networks. Totally free.
Instead of feature length stuff for this, like the Transition Initiative movie in the works, I'm thinking more like 10-15min segments that deal with some issue relevant to the transition. Even eco people out there who already have good content put up on the internet, can we get them to let us use their footage with permission? How many of them out there would want to contribute to this project.
We're talking about getting aired on actual television throughout the country content that will open viewers up to the whole concept of Transition, and everything else related to it including how-to's, philosophical inquiry, interviews, etc.
Let's create some choices!!!
