It'll be a LONG stretch 'til we're a "Transition-Ready" village, but we've started the ball rolling with "Reimagine Round Lake Beach"!

Doing my best to keep things going in McHenry County IL, www.mchenrycountytransition.com , latest initiative is to change local ordinances to allow backyard chickens! Economics of Happiness & Queen of the Sun Movie screenings coming soon. Next "Skills for the New Millennium" scheduled for Oct, see the video of the last one here http://mchenrycountytransition.ning.com/video/skills-for-a-new-mill... and Aug 2011 newsletter here http://us2.campaign-archive2.com/?u=beb5d3ecceeb73170a254bf6f&i...

Who has a full list of Transition localities in TRANSITION ILLINOIS?  Let's get all of the included in the searches, like the one above.

Just wanted to say hello to fellow Illinoisans!

Please see the Group menus we're installing today for Illinois. These links represent advanced ways of selecting, sorting, reviewing activities and associations scoped to Illinois. The key to remember is to TAG all events, photos, videos, discussions, etc. with the TAG "US-Illinois" as you create them. Go back and tag your earlier creations with "US-Illinois" and they will automatically appear on the Illinois-specific menus. If you hear a big slurping whoosh when you open this page, it's the Illinois Portfolio gathering bits & pieces from all over the site as well as external sites and summarizing them for this group's members. Who wants to help manage this? It's really fun!

Karen and Rebecca are now Admins. Feel free to create the one page "resume" of activities in Illinois. Click on EDIT and have fun...
Comment by Rebecca Wilson on July 20, 2010 at 1:43pm
I would be happy to assist Karen in editing the Transition Illinois space.
Comment by Les Squires on July 19, 2010 at 8:21am
Great, Karen. You're now an Admin. The first thing to do is to tear in to the Resume (EDIT BOX) and start populating it with details of significance for Illinois. E.g., Doug's listing for McHenry County? Join http://mchenrycountytransition.ning.com/
Comment by Karen Snyder on July 19, 2010 at 7:55am
I would be glad to help edit this site. Let me know what I need to do.
