Erik and I are presenting a talk in Charlottesville, Va. on January 28, 2011 titled What are Transition Towns. Details are in the poster attached to this post. Feel free to download and post a few in your town. After all, Charlottesville is a great place to go for an eveninTTEvent.pdfg jaunt for dinner and a talk...and if you stay, there's lovely accommodations around the area, too. We've made a Facebook event for it too, if you'd like to "share" that or invite others: What are Transition Towns Charlottesville Event. Hope to see you there.

Ron, you are now an admin. Go for it.

Ron McCorkle has just added Roanoke to TRANSITION VIRGINIA, joining Staunton, Richmond and Blue Ridge. Looking good! Karen and Joseph are already Admins. Anybody else want to become an Admin and help develop Virginia?

Hello transitioners of Virginia. I've joined you to eavesdrop a bit and to invite you to join another group: Atlantic Coast, North America.

It's a bioregion group considering the nature of Transition on the Atlantic coast of North America.

Joseph-- glad to see you entering the discussion. Would you be interested in being the admin?
--Yes Diane please set up groups however you would like.

Joe - I think you're right about Elevation Burger, but I don't think they have space for a film showing, do they? I've only been to their Falls Church location.

I'll take your comment about my being admin as a vote for setting up the new disucssion areas, but I still don't have time to take on the formal admin role.

Looking forward to meeting you one of these days!

Karen - Thanks for the thought, but I just can't take on any more formal admin responsibilities right now. I'm excited about contributing ideas, following through on the things we've discussed, and will be more than happy to set up discussion groups on the site to which we can all contribute. I also really don't understand how all this technology works, so I'm sure I'm the least capable in terms of being admin for the site. I hate to say no, but I'm going to have to this time.

Diane - in response to your question about local restruants, I think that Elevation Burger uses local, grass fed beef. . . I don't know of any others, but would also be interested if anyone knew of them.
I agree with Karen, you would make a good admin.
:)
