Lorelei, the Massachusetts people can be reached at http://transitionmassachusetts.ning.com/

Good luck!

Hello,

My family and I would like to visit a couple of Transition Towns in Massachusetts. Is there a way to contact someone who is very involved with the Transition Movements there?

Thanks!

Have you seen a super good video you think would be particularly helpful to newcomers?  The video you were watching when Transition suddenly made a whole lot more sense?  How about looking it up and sharing it here.  Click on the Quick Add: VIDEO and paste in the video's EMBED code.  It'll magically appear here in this column, as the Boogie The Urban Goat did below.  :)

Good morning, Suzi.  Great groundwork.  One of the next steps you can take is to declare the group as a GROUP here on this site.  The few questions you'll to answer are found on http://transitioninaction.com/groups/group/new  I'll help you once you get started. Let us know if you have questions.  Posting your questions is appropriate for this Newcomers group -- since quite a few people share your interest in getting started.

Hello, I'm excited to be connected here.  I have been trying to build community in my neighborhood since we move here almost four years ago. I have had several open houses where I invite my neighbors in for food and conversation.  This has been well received.  We now have a Third Sunday Soup gathering which has allowed us to invite a larger group of people...expanding the "community".

I have also gathered names, addresses, and phone #'s from my immediate neighbors...on my block and on the block behind us who share an alley. I printed out the information and passed it out to all our neighbors.

I don't quite know where to go from here.  This is a good beginning but I feel like there could be so much more.

Any suggestions on what could come next and how to present it??

Rusty, have you checked out the Rodale Institute?

www.rodaleinstitute.org/ They are a fabulous resource.

Happy birthday, Les!  My prime motivators were a friend and Carolyn Baker's news list (see carolynbaker.net).  She asks for a donation to get on the list, but it's well worth it -- I share it widely.

Hi everyone:

My wife & I are about to re-locate into a very rural & remote section of central Ontario Canada where our nearest neighbours will be almost 4 kilometers away.

It's our intention to establish a Permaculture Forest Garden in this wilderness, which will provide quality produce for our off-grid homestead & as a market garden in the near future.

Permaculture forest gardening is ALL new to us but remote living is not. If any members are familiar with this type of gardening, we sure could use some more information about it!

Thanks Les,

I'm currently exploring Midwest Permaculture's youtube channel. They are pretty close to Chicago and the folks there are Transition trainers. I am also using their videos as part of my 8 year old son's homeschool curriculum. I'm really happy I found you guys!

Hi Dave.  Nice starting point.... I am certain of the need to transition. I have NO doubt. This has created a passion within me to educate not only myself but my community as well. I WANT to be part of the solution.
