We've produced a number of DVDs of presentations that folks are using to awaken others around them. We're planning a road trip in 2009/2010 especially to include specific people and stories that are located beyond the West Coast. Hi Christopher and Monte and other fans - glad you're with us! We're a team of two: my partner Robyn (videographer/editor) and me (host/producer). I apologize for being so slow to respond-- Robyn and I have just completed an intense 5-month tour of the Pacific Northwest where we taped 58 shows. Monte, it's great to have a picture of you, given our chats in regular email. :-) I think this culture has become so mediated (saturated and accustomed to getting input primarily from screens) that people consider media personalities to be authorities (and I think many media people position themselves that way).
Part of why we do Peak Moment is to (1) bring the messages of thoughtful authorities like Richard Heinberg to the ordinary public, and (2) to validate and support "ordinary" people to (re)claim their own power, whether as backyard gardeners or pioneers in simple living or lots of other ways to relocalize.

Hi Monte-
I know just what you mean. when I am in class teaching, it is though everything I say is taken as gospel. But when I am just a face in a crowd no matter where I am, there really is quite a bit of work to not sound like we are pulling a false fear out of a hat! People are just not thinking that life will be dramatically different someday if we do not get behind sustainable living on renewable strategies.

It hadn't occurred to me that way. I usually feel that sending people to watch a video is somehow a cop-out for feeling uncomfortable with my lack of depth of knowledge or just plane discomfort with waking up from the "dream of growth."
With this perspective I can actually share more personally what is going on for me and provide the video reference for someone who is intrigued to know more.

Hello All, I just joined this network and when I discovered that Peak Moment TV had a group here I had to come join right away. I'm a big fan of Janaia and Peak Moment TV and they have and are producing some excellent products for both educating and enlightening.
Unless one is another's opinion leader it can be difficult to get someone to actually listen and all manner of protective systems can be activated when attempting to "awaken" another to the situation at hand. However, we are all very grooved in to receiving data via images and sound coming from a TV screen or resonable facsimile of one i.e., a computer monitor, therefore, directing someone to watch an enlightening and educational video or film is an excellent means to begin to nudge folks out of their slumber. Peak Moment TV productions are wonderful tools for nudging.
