Peak Moment DVDs, newsletter, and plans

DVDs for Transition awareness raising
We've produced a number of DVDs of presentations that folks are using to awaken others around them. Visit www.peakmoment.tv for presentations by Richard Heinberg (Kiss Your Gas Goodbye), David Korten (The Great Turning), Van Jones (Green for All), Michelle Long (Building a Sustainable Community and Economy), and Bill Wilson (A Permaculture Perspective), Guy Dauncey (The Great Energy Revolution), and many others.

Particularly with Transitioners and Localizers in mind, we produced "Communities Preparing for Energy and Climate Change", a 5-presentation set summarizing the problem of diminishing resources and intelligent responses, with Peak Everything author Richard Heinberg, Post Carbon Institute's Julian Darley, Transition Boulder County's Michael Brownlee, Post Carbon Cities' Daniel Lerch, and Peak Moment TV's Janaia Donaldson.

Put Peak Moment on your local TV station
Peak Moment Conversations are cablecast on about two dozen community access TV stations nationwide -- and we want more. Sponsor the series on your local station -- it's a low-overhead and high-visibility project for Transitioners. To get you started, we offer 12 programs (3 months) free and a low subscription cost of around $4 per program.

Our dream for 2009-10: Taping further afield
Our half-hour programs came primarily from our 2006 taping journeys to 21 west coast communities. We're planning a road trip in 2009/2010 especially to include specific people and stories that are located beyond the West Coast. We want your suggestions of topics, people and projects to tape, offers of safe stopping places along the way, funders, as well as financial contributions to help make it happen. Subscribe to the Peak Moment newsletter to keep up on the news.

We're touring the Pacific Northwest this August and September, taping new shows in Oregon, Washington, and Vancouver Island. Follow the near-daily blogs on Transition US (non-ning) or my blog on www.peakmoment.tv/journal.

Just added a blog entry with excerpts from Richard Heinberg on "What Nobody Talked About in Copenhagen" -- Seven enormous interrelated dilemmas that will sink civilization unless all are addressed.

I love what you are doing with youtube! Thanks for being there. I am in Colorado and seeing what others are doing to extend season has been fun and informative.

Grant, we occasionally fold in other footage (like the recent ASPO conference). And we do carry other people's dvds on our website (like the documentaries "What a Way To Go" and "The Power of Community." What do you have in mind? (I'll add that we haven't the budget to pay for footage.)

Robyn usually tapes on mini-DV tape or Quicktime files or DVD. 640x480 resolution, standard not HD.

Janaia, If we are able to videotape interviews, presentations or other relevant events, do you accept third party contributions? If so are there format preferences, resolution etc?

Jessica, anyone: If you have a local community-access television staiton, you can sponsor Peak Moment there. (Maybe someday the public broadcast stations might be interested). See the text above for a few details. Thanks for introducing folks to the shows -- and sign up for our email newsletter --looking for a network of contacts all over the continent for future taping trips. I LOVE Peak Moment! I wish it were on my local public broadcast station, but watching it on Youtube is great too. Keep up the good work, I'll keep introducing people to your show.
