Amending my post below: the SL sustainability group meets on a rotating schedule, 11 pm eastern time Saturday nights, alternating with 10 am eastern time Sunday mornings. Get in touch if you have questions.

There is a new sustainability discussion group in Second Life.

Hello all - I'm Will Sveiss in Second Life, very interested in meeting people through SL or in RL, via skype or whatever tools are easiest!

Would group members be interested in having a meeting in SL to discuss its potential?

Hi folks, Les gave me a heads up about this Second Life group. I have been exploring second Life for over a year now and believe in its potential to engage folks a new level. I am know as Maz Shan is SL. So how about starting out with a tour of Etopia island and/or creating an event?

Zev- Yes I'm interested in SL for transition related meetings as well- however most people in my transition group are not even very comfortable with forums and email. I'm hoping to get a subgroup together with a focus on organic and forest gardening who meet in-world as you say. I find navigating in SE rather cumbersome and there is a pretty steep learning curve. To help others get started with it , I need to get up to speed myself. If you have any recommendations on a particularly useful tutorial I would appreciate your suggestions. I originally got interested in SL as an on-line psychotherapy modality.

I have been in Second Life since march of 2007 and would be happy to help you navigate in-world. I am mostly interested in supporting Transition Groups who are interested in meeting in Second Life as an alternative to driving to meetings when it is not necessary or challenging to do.

Zev, I encourage you to start 2-3 discussions on the forum above and encourage people to put their materials into the threaded discussions. Examples might be, "Introduce Yourself", "Minutes of our Meetings", "Questions about Second Life"..... A stream of Comments below can get unwieldy rather quickly.
