Hello all!!

Les, Thank you for posting to this thread.  I've been swamped these last many months, but these comments are so encouraging.  Kathy and Leigh -- good to touch base again.  We here in Oberlin are indeed transitioning.  We just haven't joined T-O.  I've been working on soil and resilient, regenerative ag.  I'll try to share more soon........

Welcome Tracy.  Good to see you're interested in building Ohio!  Let us know when you have questions.

HI Leigh!
horses, transportation, healthy soils, FFA, agroecology, sustainable food systems...yeppo. currently immersed in the creation of a SARE grant proposal along those lines, including my pals the red wigglers.
thanks for all your efforts, for writing, for creating, etc. hope things are going well for you.

Thank You, Mamaka. I am so glad you posted the flag and the guidon! ! !... I wish we could all carry them (and wait for questions).
I hope nobody takes the riders the wrong way. (Maybe a lil' to military-looking.) I was brainstorming w/Kathy Jacobson and having fun. I envision educated people criss-crossing Ohio on horseback to inform communities and especially farmers (and will-be farmers) of the need to seriously rehabilitate soils to build resilience against petrocollapse famine. Something like "mounted docents of nature and common sense."
It really ought to be "the new scouting movement." I'm grateful that the Horseman's Corral magazine published a piece. That took courage. I've written to state ag. and got ignored. I wrote to Future Farmers of America and got ignored (their national convention is in Indianapolis this month--October). I'd like to go anyway. FFA should be a natural ally...

Great job Mamaka. We can only hope that other states, groups, geogregions, and special interest groups will follow the example you've set here in Ohio. The Ohio Portfolio is stellar!

Good morning Kathy. Delighted to see your continued interest in Ohio. You're now an admin and all of the functions you describe below are at your disposal. Keep in touch. We'll get Ohio jumpstarted.

Howdy Les!
I am willing to help get the Transition Ohio group up to speed.
The link to the Transition OH ning group needs changed; also have a Transition Ohio flag created by a pal, with permission to use it, for the group logo.
Would also like to link the page with the Transition Cleveland group and start adding other links from around the state.
I'll go back an tag what stuff I can find with "US-Ohio"
I'll send out more invites once we get things spiffed up a bit.

Please see the Group menus we're installing today for Ohio. These links represent advanced ways of selecting, sorting, reviewing activities and associations scoped to Ohio. The key to remember is to TAG all events, photos, videos, discussions, etc. with the TAG "US-Ohio" as you create them. Go back and tag your earlier creations with "US-Ohio" and they will automatically appear on the Ohio-specific menus. If you hear a big slurping whoosh when you open this page, it's the OhioPortfolio gathering bits & pieces from all over the site as well as external sites and summarizing them for this group's members. Who wants to help manage this? It's really fun!
