Hello everyone,

I would like to update you all on the sustainability fair here in Welches Oregon on April 24 from 9-4.
On December 17 we judged the contest naming the the event. We had quite a few entries from our local elementary school.
The winner was 2nd grader Benny Cox (see photo below). The name Benny gave us is ....

"Mt Hood Green Scene".

The planning is proceeding well. We have decided to move the event into the bigger auditorium/gym at our middle school due to the amount of interest and the number of groups participating.

The Green Scene will consist of recycling, a sustainability fair, activities and games for children, friends of the library book sale and an exhibits of high school and middle school student sustainability projects.

Our next community planning meeting is scheduled for Jan 6 at 7pm at the Welches school library

Our first newspaper ad will be published in the February edition of the mountain times. I would like to try and finalize all the participants by January 15. If your organization can not make a decision prior to that - we will still try to hold space for you. I will be calling some of you prior to January 15.

Hey, Transitioners! How can we get more of the Portland transition people to join this and keep better in touch than the listserv allows us... ? I tried the 'friends-invite' function in the upper right corner, but do not know many of the people who are already involved. With the proliferation of social networking in relation to community resilience, it makes sense for Portlanders to make this a primary site, no? (and from here we can turn people on to Bright Neighbor, Communitysupportnetworkpdx.com, etc. for local economy things).

Hi Folks,

I'm in Eugene, so I wanted to make the connection.

You all may want to join "Transition Willamette Valley" on the "Transition Oregon" website.

You also may be interested in "Transition Cascadia" right here on this website.

I'm looking forward to workin' together.

With much love and care,

Mike Morin
