Re: Ainslie Beattie Comments

Cheers Ainslie, caught an interest in your note about building virtual communities based on craft. I'll love to refer you to  the Transition Laboratory group where a Virtual Laboratory Kit is being planned. You can visit Transition Laboratory @ http://transitioninaction.com/group/transitionlaboratory

Keith, Thanks for your universities...

University of Vermont -- Permaculture Design - Keith Morris
Sterling College -- Permaculture Design - Keith Morris
Yestermorrow Design Build School -- Keith Morris
We need links!  Preferable to the actual pages where the curriculum is described, rather than the institution's homepage.

Thanks John, for the links to Saybrook and to the new MA program.  I've moved your links into this group's PORTFOLIO.

To make the sustainability offerings easier to find, here is a link with the description of the new MA program: http://www.saybrook.edu/phs/academicprograms/os/lss

To see what Saybrook University is offering, please go to www.saybrook.edu

Sustainability courses are offered by the Organizational Systems program and the Human Sciences concentration in social Transformation.

See PORTFOLIO above.  [-- Editor's note]

Hi.  I am in the first year of my PhD examining how Craft can build sustainable communities - which includes a transition focus with a view of 'makers' and their skill roll-out as a developmental tool in community growth (both virtual and physical community).  I am at Curtin University in Australia, and my husband Colin (PhD-Decarbonising Cities and Regions) is part of CUSP - run by Prof Peter Newman.  CUSP is Curtin University Sustainability Policy Unit and they have a well established sustainability course at undergrad and masters level. I have struggled to get non- sustainable academics to understand my imperative mindset, so I look forward to posing some questions here and seeing what comes back!

Ainslie

Ainslie, can we get some links?  See Saybrook above in this group's PORTFOLIO.  [-- Editor's note]

John Adams can we get some links to Saybrook web pages where your curriculum is featured?  Great to see you here.

Glad to join this interest group. I founded the first sustainability PhD program several years ago at Saybrook University in San Francisco. We have graduated dozens of folks now who are out there working towards a sustainable way of life.

I would welcome linking to other similar programs.
