I Pray - poem from Solviva- How to grow 500,000 on One Acre & Peace On Earth

I Pray

that we will come some day

to realize that "they"

are not the ones to blame.

We'll see

it's up to you and me

to make democracy

our responsibility.

Though we say the western world is

civilized and great,

now we know that living thus

is threatening our fate.

Poisons course through every vein

or every living being,

through air and earth and water too,

there's almost nothing left that's… Continue

Aubree thanks for the GREAT news! I am seeing the One Million Gardens concept take off, and your effort is a perfect addition. I hope to have a website set up in the next few weeks where we can all list our gardens and start adding them all up.

I know you are crazy busy, but I wanted to invite you to our first meeting in St. Louis. We have a great location and about 30 people on our attendee list. That's just from word of mouth and the Sustainable MO yahoo group that is mainly made up of St. Louis folks.

Hi Aubrey -- great writeup!! I'd like to suggest you create a Discussion on this site and put your challenge in front of our whole community. Name it something like "The 1000 NEW Gardens Challenge" and repurpose your comment to me a bit.

We had 140 people at our meeting on Food Security last Sunday! Very exciting. We're looking for a larger space to establish our Transition Headquarters right now. We have 1000 signs ordered for our 1000 Gardens Project. We plan to put a Community garden and kitchen in every Neighborhood Assoc. and school here in Springfield MO!!! We have a seed company that donated seeds to all the schools and we are forming green teams and assigning a Master Gardener to each one. We would like to invite each Transition Initiative to create a 1000 NEW Gardens in their community!
