Ben Leeman updated their profile photo. | Click here to update your own photo! | Create your Transition ResumeI would love to be at your next meeting. However, I live in the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas, USA. Every time I have been to AU I have stayed a while in Eltham, VIC, not so far from you. I'll be coming back maybe in a few months but this time I'll be flying into Canberra. If my cousin and I ride the train to Melbourne, maybe we can at least have coffee.
There is only one small group of people I know who are thinking about TTs. They are in a city of almost 70,000 people and are one hour west. I live in a tiny community with no political boundaries, no police, one cafe, a tiny bank and a great library. No one here seems interested.
Les Squires said… Welcome Ben,
Great to see your interest in Transition! Welcome to TRANSITION IN ACTION.
Feel free to join in the activities. Use the COMMENT WALL to say Hello to the others. Reinforce the good things they are doing. Mention something you're interested in. Ask a question. Start a discussion. Let me know if you would like to be an Admin on this page to help build and maintain your group's Resume. Have fun!
On the local scene, does Melbourne have a Transition-supporting website, or blog, or listserv, or Facebook, or Meetup? If so, it would be spot on for all our members if you would consider including a link to Melbourne in our registry of organizations, localities, companies, products, services, Twitterers, Facebooks, Meetups, etc. supporting Transition and Sustainability. Here's the page to create the link -- http://transitioninaction.com/groups/group/new. I'll be glad to help launch and build your link. You interested?
You can see all our 356+ groups at http://transitioninaction.com/groups. Use Search on this page to find a specific group. Join as many as you like. We've recently started a newsletter to summarize significant "in action" activities. Great models for all of us! Let me know when you have questions about details.
Great photo!
Super 2011 to you!
