How are you currently involved in the Transition movement?
I'm not involved yet.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
I think developing the capacity for local self-reliance is the best option we have for a soft(er) landing to predicted economic collapse, population displacement due to global climate change, and end of cheap oil.
How can you help the growth/acceptance/vitality of the Transition movement? What can YOU teach us? What can your GROUP teach us?
My background is engineering, so my focus is on technology -- development of enabling technologies, in particular. See http://biorealis.com/philosophy.html for statement of purpose and approach.
Welcome Bill. Great to see your interest in Transition! Welcome to TRANSITION IN ACTION.
is your link to our new Transition page for your neighbors in Alaska. Feel free to join in the activities. Use the COMMENT WALL to say Hello to the others. Reinforce the good things they are doing. Mention something you're interested in. Ask a question. Start a discussion. Let me know if you would like to be an Admin on this page to help build and maintain your group's Resume. Have fun!
On the local scene, does Willow (or some broader geographic area) have a Transition-supporting website, or blog, or listserv, or Facebook, or Meetup? If so, it would be spot on for all our members if you would consider including a link to Willow in our registry of organizations, localities, companies, products, services, Twitterers, Facebooks, Meetups, etc. supporting Transition and Sustainability. Here's the page to create the link -- http://transitioninaction.com/groups/group/new. I'll be glad to help launch and build your link.
