How are you currently involved in the Transition movement?

Aside from living and activity participating in a community teeming with people demonstrating transition town principles on a daily basis (Golden Bay) I run www.happyzine.co.nz - the green, good news website designed to inspiring positive social and environmental change. Happyzine is packed full of information about how to create a greener, happier society.

In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?

Although my community don't use the term 'transition town' we long ago integrated your principles into our psyche. I have a passion for positive green change, and have worked as a green writer/researcher for the past decade. I also adore green design, I read and publish a lot of info about it. I run online 'Green dream launch pad' courses for people who are launching new green projects and businesses. We run Wild Energy - a green energy design challenge - which we created to showcase the myriad of sustainable ways there are to power New Zealand and ran on Happyzine last year, we're just preparing to run our second Wild Energy challenge. And there's more, but I'll pause here.

How can you help the growth/acceptance/vitality of the Transition movement? What can YOU teach us? What can your GROUP teach us?

I can offer optimism, inspiring stories of people and communities who are taking matters into their own hands and creating inspiring, sustainable results, thereby transforming our future from questionable to exciting. I can offer a fundamental belief in the inherent goodness of people, and the knowledge that each of us contain the perfect skills and talents to make a profoundly positive different to the state of our environment.
