How are you currently involved in the Transition movement?
Des Moines Group
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
I have always pursued sustainable design as a practicing Architect, first in England and now in the US. I believe that the way society operates, we are very wasteful, therefore many future opportunities are lost because of being short sighted. I believe in preparing for the future and being conservative in that approach.
How can you help the growth/acceptance/vitality of the Transition movement? What can YOU teach us? What can your GROUP teach us?
In my work I am very much involved with decision makers and builders who ultimately will cause change. Transitions is about one person at a time versus changing legislation (top down). Ultimately it would do that in the future. We need to keep this grass roots.

One more thing, on the local scene, does Des Moines Group have a Transition-supporting website, or blog, or listserv, or Facebook, or Meetup? If so, it would be spot on for all our members if you would consider adding a link to Des Moines Group in our registry of organizations, products, services, Twitterers, Facebooks, Meetups, etc. supporting Transition and Sustainability. Here's the page to create the link -- http://transitionus.ning.com/groups/group/new.
You can see all our groups at http://transitionus.ning.com/groups. Use Search on this page to find a specific group. Let me know when you have questions about details.
