How are you currently involved in the Transition movement?
Seeking to raise the bar in our community's ability to provide sustainable housing and educate one another about the skills that will be necessary for the energy descent.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
My wife and I have initiated a Creation Care Ministry with our local faith-based communities to reinvigorate the biblical responsibility to care for God's creation and connect this way of worship with the environmental platforms and interests of our region.
How can you help the growth/acceptance/vitality of the Transition movement? What can YOU teach us? What can your GROUP teach us?
I am a professional clinical and school counselor with work experience wilderness therapy. Considering the addiction and change theories in Ch 6 of the Transition Handbook, my therapeutic skills can assist in the crucial inner change processes necessary to the sustainability in the movement. I have a B.S. in Natural Resources from Cornell University and an MA in Counseling Psychology from U of Colorado at Denver. My wife is an art professor at Western State College and a professional figurative oil painter.
I can bring leadership and initial momentum to begin the transition movement to Gunnison, CO. Our relationships within our community and professional networks can help improve the connections and conscious-building necessary for sustaining the transition movement. My clinical background can support the inner change necessary for the progression of community transition.
