January's event is all about learning how to most effectively split wood and build a fire. (sounds like a "Tom Sawyer" way of getting some wood splitting done!)We'll be sharing with each other our techniques from the group and really hope the "earth skill" members will show up and offer some pointers.See More

Profile Information

How are you currently involved in the Transition movement?
I'm volunteering to form a Transition Jackson County group to make the coming shift as "easy" as possible. Being prepared is better than not being prepared. Others are also welcome to join. My wife and I are "thrivalists (as opposed to survivalists). We're new at transition but getting a lot better at preparedness, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. My wife is a psychotherapist, we're both ordained ministers and teachers. We do workshops and transition counseling.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
Because it's patently obvious the old systems are breaking down because they are unsustainable. When they collapse, and they will, we must have the new systems in place to avoid chaos,
How can you help the growth/acceptance/vitality of the Transition movement? What can YOU teach us? What can your GROUP teach us?
We are trying to form "Networks of Grace," using Andrew Harvey's model of Sacred Activism. I live in an intentional community that's not very well organized.

Surrender and Transition Rants

Posted on August 14, 2011 at 8:41pm 0 Comments

I'm trying to surrender, but it's not fun. Surrender hurts. I seem to leave claw marks on everything I let go of. There comes a point where you can only do so much, prepare so much, and try to anticipate everything you can and everything you can afford to anticipate...and then you just have to let go.

Because I refuse to support the Infinite Growth Monetary Paradigm - or any other Infinite Growth Paradigm - I…
