Profile Information

How are you currently involved in the Transition movement?
Studied the book, read the blogs, mulled, waited for somebody else to organie a group, gave up waiting, and have just started a Meetup Group in Annapolis for Skilling Up
www.meetup.com/SunsetLifeboat
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
World Economy entering 2nd Great Depression now. And with no public funds for community infrastructure anymore: your on your own, baby. Unless your neighborhoods skill up!!!
Has to be done in eco-friendly manner or we all die of inadequate foodshed or water-born disease. SAVE THE HUMANS.
How can you help the growth/acceptance/vitality of the Transition movement? What can YOU teach us? What can your GROUP teach us?
I can reiterate what Richard Heinberg told Rob Hopkins: The Transition movement needs an emergency preparedness component to work/spread in the US. Unlike UK our climate is life-threatening. And we can't afford to exclude the survivalists who have great skilling up info to share nor the political conservatives who are all around us. To attract numbers, we need to behave nonpolitically and small d democraticly like Alcoholics Anonymous is organized for instance.

Hi Helen:

I am not going to the DC training event. I spend a couple hours a day compiling a weekly green newsletter/index, and don't have time for much more. If you would like to see a copy of my newsletter, just request one by sending me your email address; it is much too long to include here.
