How are you currently involved in the Transition movement?
We - Andrée Zaleska and Ken Ward – are interested in a Boston metro Transition, particularly a Jamaica Plain-Roslindale neighborhood component.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
One useful strategy in averting climate cataclysm and an innovative means for building a community of interest.
How can you help the growth/acceptance/vitality of the Transition movement? What can YOU teach us? What can your GROUP teach us?
Our project, the Jamaica Plain/Roslindale Green House, has 3 interlinked aims: to serve as a demonstration in achieving passivhaus standards on a low budget, rehabbing an abandoned, 100 year old former corner store; to serve as a climate campaigning hub for 350.org and other sustainability efforts, and; to build community in the Bourne neighborhood, which stradles JP and Roslindale in Boston. All three aims seem to us to fit well with the Transition Movement ethos and goals.
