"What about having communities invest in their own infrastructure directly? Then reap the benefits of revenue generated thereafter - sort of like microloans, with a significant return to whomever decides to invest."
"Can we figure out how to grow this Movement in the Hudson Valley? It's such a huge geographic area, with millions of people in it. How can we make our group bigger?"
How are you currently involved in the Transition movement?
I own a company, Emergent Energy Group, that helps transition initiatives to realize goals and implement strategies toward sustainability and alternative energy.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
I have been interested in more community-based living since I was a child. I grew up in suburbia, but heard wonderful stories from my elder family members about village and city life in the Hudson Valley and in Yonkers, New York - these stories inspired my love for more village/sustainable living.
How can you help the growth/acceptance/vitality of the Transition movement? What can YOU teach us? What can your GROUP teach us?
That any plan can be implemented with careful consideration of all different aspects, perceptions, ideas, and opinions of a community.

Hey Jared,
have you read the Peak Oil Shrink's (Kathy McMahon's) take on Transition and Survivalism. Interesting discussion too.
