Profile Information

How are you currently involved in the Transition movement?
I serve as Co-chair for Sustainable Saratoga. I also am pro tem Co-Chair of the Local Economy and Composting, Waste & Recycling Committees of Sustainable Saratoga. I have read many publications and listened to many presentation on topics of relocalization, peak oil, ecological economics.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
I live my life as if my actions matter, and to that end, I try to serve as an example of an engaged citizen rather than an individual consumer looking to maximize my own bottom line. I believe that interdependence at the local level is essential to our transition to a post-petroleum world.
How can you help the growth/acceptance/vitality of the Transition movement? What can YOU teach us? What can your GROUP teach us?
I can help the vitality of the Transition movement by investigating the possibility of aligning Sustainable Saratoga with the Transition movement.

Welcome Jim,

Great to see your interest in Transition! Welcome to TRANSITION IN ACTION. You've already friended Dave. Super.

http://transitioninaction.com/group/linktransitionnewyorkusa is your link to our new Transition page for your neighbors in New York. Feel free to join in the activities. Use the COMMENT WALL to say Hello to the others. Reinforce the good things they are doing. Mention something you're interested in. Ask a question. Start a discussion. Let me know if you would like to be an Admin on this page to help build and maintain your group's Resume. Have fun!

On the local scene, it would be spot on for all our members if you would consider including links to Sustainable Saratoga and the Local Economy Committee of Sustainable Saratoga in our registry of organizations, localities, companies, products, services, Twitterers, Facebooks, Meetups, etc. supporting Transition and Sustainability. Here's the page to create the link -- http://transitioninaction.com/groups/group/new. I'll be glad to help launch and build your link. You interested?

You can see all our 330+ groups at http://transitioninaction.com/groups. Use Search on this page to find a specific group. Join as many as you like. We've recently started a newsletter to summarize significant "in action" activities. Great models for all of us! Let me know when you have questions about details.

One more thing. It would be super to see your photo -- "Choose File" on http://transitioninaction.com/profiles/settings/editProfileInfo -- Let me know if you need assistance. I'll be delighted to do some photoshopping if needed.

Super 2011 to you!
