TRANSITION VIRGINIA -- A networking coalition providing Transition Initiatives based on local production, renewable energy, efficiency & resilient communities.
Please join us as we share ideas with eachother on the REAL issues that we face today and in the future. Let's get passed the 2 party competition going on in our White House (the last 40 years) and start innovating as a community. We have to change the way we use energy, land, and the environment. Everyone has a part to play in getting the planet back where nature intends for it to be, or else our future generations will be facing major problems. How are you currently involved in the Transition movement?
I just learned of the movement from watching Rob Hopkins on TED.com - very interested and motivated to do something in my area. Conservation of our beautiful planet has been a big deal to me throughout my life.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
I am interested in making sure that the generations that follow me are given the opporunity to enjoy life, and life will not be possible if nothing is done and we keep pumping so much carbon into the air - trash and toxins being thrown in landfills... I have just felt deeply about this issue for the last 12 years of my 25 year life.
How can you help the growth/acceptance/vitality of the Transition movement? What can YOU teach us? What can your GROUP teach us?
I think I would have a lot to learn from the experience of helping in this movement. I am a leader and role model in my community, and could pull together the talent and passion to get things done. I think we all could learn immensely - I am so glad that this network was started!!
