How are you currently involved in the Transition movement?

I am currently on the steering committee for a "muller" initiative, Transition Snoqualmie Valley. We are in the process of becoming an official initiative. We read the Handbook in May of 09 and started our public education in early January of 2010. We currently have 60+ members and growing daily.

In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?

I identify with the need to reduce our consumption of oil and conserve it for the absolute neccessities. I would like to see a revolution in the energy sector towards green technology. I am very concerned about run-away climate change and want to do what I can to reverse the path we are on including personal changes and community education.

How can you help the growth/acceptance/vitality of the Transition movement? What can YOU teach us? What can your GROUP teach us?

We are a talented bunch here in the Snoqualmie Valley. We live in one of the richest agricultural valleys in the Northwest. Our population is diverse including organic farmers, permaculture experts, woodworkers, artists, Microsoft "techies" and all around smart and talented people interested in making a difference.
