Kathryn Alexander, MA commented on Kathy McMahon's blog post 'Beyond Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs'
"I too have had problems with Maslow. This issue I have with his work is the same I have with Max-Neef. The categories are fuzzy and don't do well for actual analysis. I've been using a model I designed to get away for that issue called…"

Kathryn Alexander, MA replied to David Eggleton's discussion 'Let's Relate Wishes to "Places to Intervene in a System"' in the group Resilience, systems thinking and social networks
"David,   What an interesting thought! I'd like to use Bob Crosby's thought to share some of my work and get a reaction. Donella talked about leverage. I work with three systems of values. Each has an intent: protection, effectiveness,…"

Profile Information

How are you currently involved in the Transition movement?
I'm an author, speaker and coach working with leaders who are serious about living their values, passionate about nature, and concerned about their legacy. I developed the Sustainable Values Set (TM), a system of values distilled from nature that helps to ensure alignment and congruence with how nature actually works. Who could be a better teacher than Mother Nature herself?
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
No one disputes that the Earth is changing. Rather than argue about why, it is important to begin to work in concert with the planet. The benefits are huge, the impacts are both intangible and tangible ( financial) and working with the planet is both ethical and spiritual. By living and working from a Deep Green perspective, our lives become coherent and whole.
How can you help the growth/acceptance/vitality of the Transition movement? What can YOU teach us? What can your GROUP teach us?
My focus is on leadership and the benefits gained by creating a partnership with the planet. My book,"What's It Mean - Shifting To Green?" offers several frameworks for shifting, both personally and organizationally to aligning with Earth's natural processes. I coach leaders to walk their talk!
