Profile Information

How are you currently involved in the Transition movement?
Yes! I have created hyperlocavore.com. Hyperlocavore is introducing folks with green thumbs to folks with space to grow food to encourage yard sharing or group gardening.
Our vision: neighborhoods that have died coming back to life, kids who love the smell of dirt, blocks with foreclosed homes becoming vibrant places, plates full of delicious healthy food at costs we can all afford, and neighbors who are friends.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
Reading the Handbook!

Hyperlocavore.com is starting a book club!

Posted on November 19, 2009 at 2:10pm 0 Comments

Hey folks,

Over on hyperlocavore.com we are starting a book club. We are considering 4 books to read, one is the Transition Handbook. Please feel free to join and participate, but if you would refrain from voting on the book we read I would appreciate that unless you are a member of hyperlocavore.com. (Don't want to tip the scales to much) That said - TH is very much in the lead at this time.

Liz - What I am envisioning is a social networking site that has a searchable database so people can locate different kinds of gardens anywhere in the country and so that we can offer a running total of gardens to keep track of our progress.

Is it possible for us to talk on the phone about this?

Liz - Do you have a map of gardens associated with this site? I was unable to find it.

Hey Liz, the shared yard concept is so key. I started my garden last year and it is so much work, when it could be so much fun as a social event.
