"There are people in Somerville & Cambridge who are moving forward. My attempts in JP have stalled due to several factors. There is someone there who wants to help, but we have had some disagreements about how to even begin!! So Rob Riman and…"
"Good little post David! I read the article you reference here and was similarly bored and unimpressed. There seems to be no shortfalls in the "Total Lack of Creative Vision" in anything mainstream these days...even among those who posture…"
How are you currently involved in the Transition movement?
Meeting with other Transitions people in my neighborhood, connecting with new people, sharing what I know and connecting others to the opportunity.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
Systems thinking is in my bones! I like the movement's self-reflective nature and integrated feedback opportunities...the fact that it doesn't claim to be the sole answer to our problems and yet it provides a useful framework of principles we can choose to use to guide the way into a better future... and that it relies on and values all relationships and the choice of the individual to act as a part of a community...I like the focus on visioning and re-visioning as well.
How can you help the growth/acceptance/vitality of the Transition movement? What can YOU teach us? What can your GROUP teach us?
By being who I am in the movement and working to broaden and deepen the work...who is exposed to/involved in it, especially in terms of it's diversity and self-reflective components. I can offer some technical expertise in a range of areas as well.
Welcome Marian! Great to see you here on Transition U.S. and Transition Jamaica Plain. "... broaden and deepen the work...who is exposed to/involved in it, especially in terms of it's diversity and self-reflective components. I can offer some technical expertise in a range of areas as well..." -- What kind of skills?
If you haven't already done so, come and see the new US Transition Page we rolled out last week. As this page develops, it will become a map of Transition resources across all ning sites. All 50 states are now active. Many state sites are brand new! Go to TRANSITION MASSACHUSETTS and sign in. Invite others. Enter some of your local events. Start Discussions. Make Transition! Have fun!
