Profile Information

How are you currently involved in the Transition movement?
Forming an initiating committee in Williamsburg, Ma.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
I am very interested in changing the way I live and connect with my community. I want to be more in control of my food and simplify my life. I love the idea that people of very different walks of life, economic and social backgrounds are coming together to work towards positive and healthy ways of thinking, living and working.
How can you help the growth/acceptance/vitality of the Transition movement? What can YOU teach us? What can your GROUP teach us?
I am an artist and art therapist as well as a mother and avid community builder. I love to learn new skills and make things. I can offer my artistic skills towards the heart and soul aspects of the transition process with people of all ages. I have training in conflict resolution/non-violent intervention techniques, psychotherapy and art therapy as a tool for expression. I enjoy using art to teach, explore feelings and to document the stories that people need to tell. Children learn difficult concepts very easily through art and bring the playfulness of art making into the world of adults can be very helpful when things become painful, drained or heavy. Our group here in Williamsburg is just forming but we have so many great people with so many skills I am sure we will have much to offer.
