How are you currently involved in the Transition movement?
Brand spanking new. Just read about it in YES! Magazine. But I'm interested in seeing what I can take home to Huntsville, Texas.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
I agree that nothing short of a transition of values reflected in how we live will deter or at least ameliorate the crisis that is no longer looming over the horizon, but is immediately impending.
How can you help the growth/acceptance/vitality of the Transition movement? What can YOU teach us? What can your GROUP teach us?
I have no group, though I am part of a growing community of concerned people. I am a pastor and am privileged to speak into this community with some trust. I am actively working towards encouraging a local economy here through Conversation Cafes, films, and organizing for a Farmers Market and Community Garden. I think I'm mostly about learning at this point.
Your Favorite Books/Websites/Blogs/RSS Feeds for Information about the Transition Movement
All I know about is YES! Magazine, so far.
I am going to include two websites I own but haven't developed as of yet. I hope to use them for local input on this subject. One is sharetheharvest.info and the other is below.

Welcome Michael. Great to see your interest in Transition! Welcome to TRANSITION IN ACTION.
http://transitionus.ning.com/group/linktransitiontexasusa is your link to our new Transition page for your neighbors in Texas. Feel free to join in the activities. Use the COMMENT WALL to say Hello to the others. Reinforce the good things they are doing. Mention something you're interested in. Ask a question. Start a discussion. Let me know if you would like to be an Admin on this page to help build and maintain your group's Resume. Have fun!
One more thing, on the local scene, does Huntsville have a Transition-supporting website, or blog, or listserv, or Facebook, or Meetup? If so, it would be spot on for all our members if you would consider including a link for Huntsville in our registry of organizations, products, services, Twitterers, Facebooks, Meetups, etc. supporting Transition and Sustainability. Here's the page to create the link -- http://transitionus.ning.com/groups/group/new.
You can see all our groups at http://transitionus.ning.com/groups. Use Search on this page to find a specific group. Let me know when you have questions about details.
