How are you currently involved in the Transition movement?
I'm a member of Transition Santa Cruz initiating committee and attended the Training for Transition in San Francisco in December 2008. I also work for Chelsea Green Publishing, the U.S. publisher of "The Transition Handbook," David Holmgren's "Permaculture: Principles and Pathways," and other relevant books.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
I was involved with Sustainable Seattle in the early 90s and subsequently lived for a number of years in a small, island community where I learned a few facets of the meaning of interdependence and community resilience. I am drawn to the work of connecting organizations and am trying to learn to be a systems thinker, and I love the inclusive, creative context that the Transition Movement has created for doing important work.

Hi Michael! Great to see you active in Transition US. I see you've already connected with Michael Levy. When you get the opportunity, please go to the beginnings of what will become Transition California and begin documenting what's happening in Santa Cruz. Be free to invite others in your area to post their own questions, resources, etc. on these pages. Have fun!
