Uniting in Obedience to Divinely Decreed Leadership of Humanity in the Person of Imam Kareem Shah Al Hussain of AKDN

Since 2010, my engagement has been low on transition network and this has been primarily due to my engagement with an email based inter faith discussion. There, I have discovered the community following Imam Kareem Shah Al Hussaini called Agakhanis in India and Pakistan. I have found them perfect among the muslims and believers establishing midnight salaat/prayer/begging, praise of God/Allah SwT/parameshwar and giving at the rate of 12.5% per month up and above the taxes. Zakaat in the form of…See More

Coal India gets into solar power

This is the news I wanted to hear for such a long time, wondering why Indian energy companies are not working for the post carbon age.Now ,I understand that my communication for preparation for the end of 'petro-modern age', a term I coined for letting people understand that fossil fuel based transportation system would not be there for all the time and therefore, it was important for the nations for the preparation for the end of petro-modern age. Profile Information

How are you currently involved in the Transition movement?
I have been invited to join the movement by its co-founder Les Squires and this is indeed a previlege. It is also a matter of great personal satisfaction that a movement has been initiated in US for ensuring smooth bloodless transition to ecologically safe ,sustainble mode lifestyle with equity, peace ,justice and social cohesion. As executive director of Centre for Ecological Audit, Social Inclusion and Governance , I have been working for maximining carbon neutral response locally and globally for mitigating the climate change. As a Pychologist, involved in shaping processes for transition to ecologically sustainable, personally enriching and collectively secure future for all of us in here and now and hereafter.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
I would like to support processes towards transition through sharing my learnings and experiences as a Psychologist and then as a social development professional. I have called for preparation for the end of petro-modern times and therefore , it is critical to ensure facilitation of processes that contribute in building the future that is ecologically safe , socially equitable and peaceful.
How can you help the growth/acceptance/vitality of the Transition movement? What can YOU teach us? What can your GROUP teach us?
We would share all the technical and advisory outputs that we generate . If possible, we can address meetings of volunteers , albeit rarely, as I am based in India , calling for maximising carbon-neutral neighbourhood engagements for mitigating the climate change. One of the critical area of action is to support the adoption of faith based measures for spending leisure time rather than energy intensive travels within and across the cities.

Suggestions you have for improving our Registration questions. Getting to know you better.
Some of the suggestion that could be useful. Questions on the required personal responses for mitigating climate change. For example, what do you think we in US need to do for reducing the emission of green house gases? I would like to write more later.

Using Internet for communicating reduction in emission of green house gases through transforming leisure

I would like to call for transforming ecologically hostile leisure as the first step for transition. Through engaging in carbon neutral neighbourhoods engagements. Faith based engagements need to be reconsidered in this regards. Muslim practice of prayer 5 times can be considered ecolgically benevolent and men and women practicing prayer 5 times a day avoid all the ecologically hostile engagements such as dancing halls and bars.

Here is a listserved post to UN Solution Exchange Climate Community where I have mentioned this august network devoted to preparation for post-carbon age.

Dear members,

Noting the view of K. D. Singh, I would like to urge members to work for transforming energy consumption patterns in the rural and urban areas rather than seeking replacement of fossil based energy through bio-mass energy as these would create further demand of fertile lands that are…

Hello Muhammad, I am an artist, too.  I work in stained glass, mostly window panels and small designs made of recycled glass.  Art is a good way to raise funds for community projects.  There are many artisans who donate their work for specific causes.  The Japan tsunami is the world's largest disaster and it is not over yet.  Thank you for sharing your work on such an important issue.

Thank you! It sounds as though you are really involved in education around the transition movement. I am very active in my personal life, business, and community, but don't check this website more than every few months, so I apologize for being out of the loop. I received your message and realize now just how much networking is happening here. Oh ~ if I had more time to spend online. :)

Peace and light,
Ann

Mukhtar, I have joined the Global Justice Movement List once again, only to find that my messages are being held for "moderator approval" and i am not going to post to a list where i am being censored. May I suggest that you and/or Robert join the FixGov List which is not moderated. Peter Challen is on this list, and i must assume that it is either Rodney or Janos that is doing the moderating.

Dear Mukhtar - Someone took me off of the Global Justice Movement List and i am no longer signed in there. I reported this to Peter Challen and he was to look into this, but no action was ever taken to reinstate me. If you and Robert want me back on the list, then i suggest you write a comment to both Rodney and Peter, and ask that i be reinstated as i would very much like to keep disseminating information via that list. Thank you for your concern and consideration. I do hope things are well with you. with love and appreciation m r

Thank you, Mukhtar. For the moment, i am engaged in bringing a new Future
Dawning project into being. It is called Future Dawning Enterprises and is designed as an incubator for new trend-setting programs which have the ability to enable and empower paradigm shifts of great magnitude that will carry us into the future in health and wellness.
