How are you currently involved in the Transition movement?
I am just learning about the movement and look forward to getting involved.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
I am an experienced and involved networker and community builder who has been working independently on creating connections and encouraging local economy, permaculture, and sustainability in my area.
How can you help the growth/acceptance/vitality of the Transition movement? What can YOU teach us? What can your GROUP teach us?
I can work on a local level to interest my community in the things the movement does. I can host discussions, film screenings, book talks or readings. I can make a put up fliers. I can work with my neighbors and friends to create community action groups to address various community needs and potential.
Nancy: We have a small non-profit on Guemes Island, not too far from you.
After attending the Permaculture Convergence and just this last weekend, the Transition Training in Victoria, B.C. , we are ready to reach out to our greater community. PT seems to be the most advanced in Washington, although many communities seem to be interested and are beginning to pull together with concern about our shared future.
Come and visit us. We have ties right in your town! My wife's Mother lives
in Pt Hadlock and there is another rebel group near you on Marrowstone Island.
I found you in the Currency section of this thing. I have been making paper by hand for 30 years and it was suggected that we start a currency based on a seed bank (At the Peermaculture Convergence)
What do you think? Lane Parks Director Madrona Center
Hi Nanci! Great to see you here. So you're a community builder "creating connections and encouraging local economy, permaculture, and sustainability" -- just the kind of person who we trust will find a home here in this wonderful group. Help us build!
