"A few possible examples I can think of, apart from mirroring the actions of Food Not Bombs, would be guerrilla building. In the UK there are countless areas that are owned by local authorities that have fallen into disuse and have become, at best,…"
I like the title of this group. Yes, Life does rule... not us. This does not, of course, imply that we should go in the direction that "life" appears to be shoving us if, by "life", we simply mean the status quo of society as it stands. How are you currently involved in the Transition movement?
I am not currently involved but I think this is a necessary step forward.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
I feel we are dangerously dependent upon the State and corporate providers to supply our vital needs. We need to be interdependent upon one another as a social species and as self-sufficient as possible as individuals. It is important as we move into the next phase of our evolution to return to WHO we are.
How can you help the growth/acceptance/vitality of the Transition movement? What can YOU teach us? What can your GROUP teach us?
I have nothing to bring except my enthusiasm. Hopefully, I can learn much and spread this concept within my own area and, hopefully, it may spread from there throughout my own country.

Good to meet you Ron! I've not yet walked the forests or meadows of your land in Britian, though my family blood lines carry the memories. Glad to hear their is some forests left...I'm a bit spoiled having such a big island/continent to explore the forests & deserts & streams. I almost came over to England for a permi course by Patrick Whitefield, but decided the best one was right on Orcas Island in our bioregion.
Hi Ron, Good to read your discussions. I'm not very active on this site, but I am active in community on the earth. I network mostly online with the Earth Gardens network I created within our Transition Whatcom network:
