"Thanks for your thoughtful ideas! BTW, you can support local bookstores by buying online from them instead of Amazon. My husband and I own a small bookstore in a small town in WV and can get The End of Growth by Richard Heinberg here:…"

Profile Information

How are you currently involved in the Transition movement?
Working with others to start the group "Sustainable Shepherdstown"
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
I read Rob Hopkins' Transition Handbook last year. I already knew and was excited about permaculture, and his book helped me understand the pieces of peak oil, global warming and community organizing as well.
How can you help the growth/acceptance/vitality of the Transition movement? What can YOU teach us? What can your GROUP teach us?
A personal twist, perhaps, is that I am a Christian in a fairly orthodox/evangelical sense...I hope to be able to communicate why it is a Christian imperative to work towards a better life for both people and the planet. Why should any of us think the world of cheap oil and energy will last forever? What could be more important than to be stewards of the earth and the future of our children and grandchildren?
