Thanks Shelby! Oil Awareness is now about 120 people. We are anxious to stop talking to each other "choir practice" and go out and do something, Some are interested in Transition towns, others Eco Units and others Local economy.
Welcome Shelby! Great to see you here on Transition U.S. and Transition Halifax. You highlighted in your profile that you have "... had the great pleasure of coordinating the Relocalization Network program for the last few years, supporting Transition initiatives around the world and helping people start relocalization projects in their communities...." -- Perfect! I bet we can find some really clever ways of introducing our two communities to each other... Ideas?
Speaking as the design of this social network, please feel free to let me know if Nova Scotia might be interested in setting up a similar network. I'm definitely interested if you know enthusiasts would also be interested.
How are you currently involved in the Transition movement?
I've had the great pleasure of coordinating the Relocalization Network program from 2005 to 2009, supporting Transition initiatives around the world and helping people start relocalization projects in their communities. I now coordinate communications for Transition US - www.transitionus.org.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
I believe that community-based responses that value diversity and local knowledge are essential to building resiliency and regaining the robustness of our basic systems.
