Profile Information

How are you currently involved in the Transition movement?
I was aware of the transition movement for years before it came to the US and have been framing much of my service and study around the "transition". I helped in the initial months of Transition Ashland, working with the founding core in the articulation and facilitating some of the first gatherings of the working groups. I am interested in bringing self organizing governance practices into the Transition movement.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
Building resilient communities is a key area of my focus in the world. I believe we need to create a culture of adaptation and one that shifts from many of the current modes of operating in terms of energy, finance, culture, planning, food, education and most importantly an overall ground-shift in paradigm, transitioning from a more objective, disenchanted view on the world to a re-enchanted, evolutionary and living systems perspective.
How can you help the growth/acceptance/vitality of the Transition movement? What can YOU teach us? What can your GROUP teach us?
As an evolutionary strategist there are a variety of things I could contribute around supporting the organizational growth and development of movement.
As a certified practioner and trained instructor in Holacracy, a whole systems application for governance and self organizing. Holacracy also provides a methodology that allows for up to date output of current roles, accountabilities, and policies in any working group making for easy information sharing, cross polination and governing as a whole town, across regions or throughout the whole movement.

My Mission as an Evolutionary Strategist is to support intentional development in individuals, organizations and our greater society. Evolutionary Strategy provides whole system applications that take into consideration:

  • Human development, business development & community development
  • Patterns of the living universe & current states of our planetary body
  • Subtle relationships & states of being.

The form and function of my work entails:

  • Providing resources and guidance for organizational learning
  • Instilling systems for transformative growth and efficacy
  • Mapping, strategizing, and intentional design of initiatives and systems
  • Project management, group facilitation  & individual coaching
  • Curriculum design and event planning

Click anytime on Transition group members in California to join your neighbors in discussions and events.  Click on any person's photo to say hello and find out more about their Transition interests. Reinforce the good things they are doing. Mention something that particularly interests you. Ask a question. Start a discussion. Let me know if you would like to be an Admin on this page to help build and maintain your group's portfolio. Have fun!

On the local scene, it would be spot on for all our members if you would consider including a link to in our registry of organizations, localities, companies, products, services, Twitterers, Facebooks, Meetups, etc. supporting Transition and Sustainability. Here's the page to create the link. That way we can introduce our two groups to each other. I'll be glad to help launch and build your link. Are you interested?

Great photo.

Again, welcome!

Hi Shiloh,

I would display that I am 62.  I'm happy to broadcast my age, however, I don't post my birthday anywhere for public view, because knowing one's birth date is one of the key bits of information (along with things like one's social security number, driver's license number, passport number, bank account number, etc. etc.) required by hackers, identity thieves and other knaves who would alter your credit record, steal your money,  or wreak havoc on your life in whatever manner.

I too appreciate inter-generational discourse.  I just hosted and had a delightful interaction with a 28 yr. old man from Canada for two days ( of many such rewarding experiences.

Evolutionary Strategist eh?  I like it.  I just saw the film "I Am" this week, and am totally enamored with the notion of evolutionary consciousness, or some such.  I love the work you do to make the world a better place.
