Profile Information

How are you currently involved in the Transition movement?
I'm the Administrator or the "CLOO"- Chief Love Operations Officer- for the ONE LOVE BANK, an exchange on CES in the US Virgin Islands, a burgeoning exchange I hope to take public by the Fall of 2012.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
Many of my people are already trading. However, the givers are often left at a detriment by the takers who promise to reciprocate and never get around to that. Also, my people are often afraid of authority and money systems from a spiritual, intellectual and socio-economic perspective as a disenfranchised body. The only way we can avoid being squeezed out of our own island by elite interests inviting tourists and wealthy Americans and Europeans to re-colonize our lands, is to prosper ourselves within the natural resources of our own talents, products, services, and agricultural harvests.
How can you help the growth/acceptance/vitality of the Transition movement? What can YOU teach us? What can your GROUP teach us?
I was born to an African American New Yorker and a Caucasian Californian, raised on St. Croix, in the USVI, a tiny little island southeast of Puerto Rico in the Caribbean. Similar to our islands which have known seven flags, I am African, French, Danish, Spanish, Dutch, Irish, Scottish, Welsh, and Cherokee, in order of descending potency. I have an educational background in marketing, writing, and international security and diplomacy. I offer a perspective that spans racial, national, social, economic, intellectual, historical, and spiritual spectra. Our people have the unique collective experience of destitution. Everyone has lived through, come from, and/or witnessed utter poverty and destruction. The sense of gratitude and pride for ourselves and our neighbors is (in my humble opinion) unparalleled in the American culture and populace. After hurricanes here, there can be such devastation that there is nothing money can buy- literally. Relying on our intuition, ingenuity, and intimate relationships, we survive and thrive in ways that would make some weep and crumble. I hope our exchange can bridge the gap between those of us who live on island and those who have been called to live abroad, and ease the burden that we all feel being unable to fully support ourselves without the help of a hand that is at once a vital lifeline and a violent oppressive force.
Your Favorite Books/Websites/Blogs/RSS Feeds for Information about the Transition Movement
They are all listed on the CES website- www.community-exchange.org! And, I believe the Zeitgeist movies, available on You Tube are an extraordinary introduction to "the way things work" for those of you who have skeptics in your midst. The movies offer active diagrams and countless testimonies from around the world that explain the truth of our currently flawed system and where it's headed. It's riveting. I highly recommend having a screening for all those you hold dear.

Suggestions you have for improving our Registration questions. Getting to know you better.
Another few (slightly more) direct questions that once answered would be lovely to know of others: What do you hope to give and gain from your experience in this group? How can the group help you grow? What are your short-term and long-term goals for your participation in this movement?
