Why would leaders and followers in a single generation choose not to speak out loudly, clearly and often in a time when a paradise is being turned into an inferno? Can malignant narcissism,…Continue

Slowly Declining TFRs in Many Places and Rapidly Increasing Absolute Global Human Population Numbers.

With regard to the need to humanely and swiftly shrink the colossal size of the human population on Earth, please note that declining TFRs cannot be the primary driver of rapid population decline because the growth of absolute global human population numbers could be a function of food supply. Declining TFRs in certain places, perhaps many places on the surface of the Earth, must not blind us to the observable fact that absolute population numbers of the humans species are continuing to grow…See More

We can readily see what 'the brightest and best' as well as "the smartest guys in the room" are doing on our watch.  These self-proclaimed masters of the universe are assuring their 'inalienable rights' to reprehensibly internalize profits while externalizing costs; rapaciously overconsume and hoard finite natural resources; relentlessly overproduce unnecessary stuff that pollute the environment; and recklessly condone the overpopulation of our planetary home, let us hope human beings with…

Welcome Steven,

Great to see your interest in Transition! Welcome to GLOBAL TRANSITION IN ACTION.  I see you've already connected with Ellen. You'll find her LIFE RULES group at

http://transitioninaction.com/group/life-rules-the-book Come join us.

Please join and click anytime on Transition group members in North Carolina to join your neighbors in discussions and events.  Click on any person's photo to say hello and find out more about their Transition interests. Reinforce the good things they are doing. Mention something that particularly interests you. Ask a question. Start a discussion. Let me know if you would like to be an Admin on this page to help build and maintain your group's portfolio. Have fun!

On the local scene, does Chapel Hill have a Transition-supporting website, or blog, or listserv, or Facebook, or Meetup? If so, it would be spot on for all our members if you would consider including a link to Chapel Hill  in our registry of organizations, localities, companies, products, services, Twitterers, Facebooks, Meetups, etc. supporting Transition and Sustainability. Here's the page to create the link. That way we can introduce our two groups to each other. Are you interested? I'll be glad to help launch and build your link.

One more thing. It would be super to see your photo -- Click on Choose File and then follow instructions. Let me know if you need assistance. I'll be delighted to do some photoshopping if needed.

Again, welcome!

Wonderful! Now you can go back to that Transition Action Social Network page and hit "groups" and join Life Rules - the book group and that's a space where we can expand the population conversation in the presense of possibly hundreds or thousands of potential colleagues. You can bring posts, comments, whatever suits you to bear on the essential issues we're all discussing. And you can add yourself and a new group and create a widening conversation. Invite the members of the pop conversation to do the same. Join my group and yours and set up their own and bring this issue to more people.  ellen
