How are you currently involved in the Transition movement?

I am conducting doctoral dissertation research into Transition Towns and their impact on community food security. I am also involved in a new Transition Town forming in my area. I see transition towns as a hopeful means of addressing the instability of our day. By replacing fear they empower people to make the necessary changes to be prepared and create the future they want.

In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?

Grassroots change is the only real hope we have to make a difference in the battle we fight against climate change. It's an excellent way to recruit a wider variety of people who care to work together for a common purpose.

How can you help the growth/acceptance/vitality of the Transition movement? What can YOU teach us? What can your GROUP teach us?

It is my hope that my research will validate the effectiveness of transition towns to do what they say they set out to do. By informing others of just what a transition town is and why they should want one, I will increase awareness and offer more people a chance to get involved in creating the community and the world they want to live in.
