Profile Information

How are you currently involved in the Transition movement?
I'm a certified teacher, IT professional, environmental educator and interpretive guide involved in local, national and international environmental and conservation organizations. I'm a native plant gardener and outdoors person intimately familiar with local plants and wildlife. I am currently an inspired TT initiator in my hometown.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
I recognize the urgent need to prepare for a post petroleum and inevitable post carbon world. I love my region and feel compelled to take personal action and educate and encourage others to take action to build a resilient community. In particular I fear the potential damage to the community and it's critical natural resources caused by panic, opportunism and mistakes of a population caught off guard.
How can you help the growth/acceptance/vitality of the Transition movement? What can YOU teach us? What can your GROUP teach us?
I am articulate, educated, passionate and best of all, well connected in this community where I've lived most of my life.
Your Favorite Books/Websites/Blogs/RSS Feeds for Information about the Transition Movement
The Art of the Commonplace by Wendell Berry; Cradle to Cradle by McDonnough; realclimate.org; grist.org; theoildrum.com; postcarbon.com; usgbc.org; many many more...
Suggestions you have for improving our Registration questions. Getting to know you better.

Welcome Terrell! Great to see you here on Transition U.S. "... active member of TNC, Sierra Club and other local, national and international environmental and conservation organizations..." -- Since one of our earliest objectives is to gather resources like these, please let us know how you think we might start some collaborations with these groups.

If you haven't already done so, come and see the new US Transition Page we rolled out this past weekend. As this page develops, it will become a map of Transition resources across all ning sites. All 50 states are now active. Many state sites are brand new! Go to TRANSITION LOUISVILLE and sign in. Invite others. Enter some of your local events. Start Discussions. Make Transition! Have fun!
