MIMIC THIS! When you get invited to events 3000 miles away (or 20 of them just across town), use COPY & PASTE with the really interesting events to seed your own community's plans for similar events. Why start from scratch.... Beg, borrow and mimic! More....

How are you currently involved in the Transition movement?
Conversations with George Lisi, who is organizing Transition Montpelier. Would like to be part of a transition movement here in my town of Jericho, Vermont.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
I spent many years as a local currency organizer (Burlington Bread in Vermont) and enjoyed the excitement of being part of both a practical and visionary movement. Here in Jericho, we have had occasional movie showings, and talks on subjects like peak oil, but never any follow through to taking action as a community. I like how Transition goes beyond simply educating and activates a community into doing something.
How can you help the growth/acceptance/vitality of the Transition movement? What can YOU teach us? What can your GROUP teach us?
My experience with community activism helps me both in talking to people and getting them excited about taking part.

I'm still trying to connect to other like minded folks in my area, Jericho Vermont. Hope your website can help me there. Thanks!
Welcome Laura and soon to be Transition Vermont! Great to see you here. I see you've also connected with George. "...I'm still trying to connect to other like minded folks in my area, Jericho Vermont. Hope your website can help me there...." -- Don't hesitate to ask us how we can help. It's all in community.
We invite you to go to Starting Local Groups on Transition US and then to Vermont. Tell us a little more about what's happening in your neighborhood. This makes your group visible to other groups in Vermont and elsewhere around the world. Be sure to ask questions as they arise.
Hi Laura!
It's great to see you here! I also encourage you to sign up at The Transition Center, Portland, Maine, here. Alastair and Pat Lough are great folks who deliver TT training in the east, as well as organizing many way cool teleconferences with TT folks regionally and around the country.
