Ringing Cedars Group

For all who are inspired by the 'Ringing Cedars of Russia' series - please share your thoughts on creating kin's domains, spaces of love, re-wilding, communing with nature. Would be great to hear from those who've been to Sharashkin's workshop!

"As someone who spend the past several months in Dallas, I've done a lot of thinking about the megalopolis problem. My feeling is that breaking down the mega-cities into manageable chunks - towns, communities or whatever - is the way it's…"

This is so good:

Watching this clip makes me realize that so far, when I think of the Transition Movement, I've been picturing in my mind's eye mostly white people in places like England, Portland, The Farm in TN, maybe New Zealand, working together to relocalize, etc.

Van Jones reminds us here that this is a RAINBOW NATION of cultural diversity. And the Transition Movement needs to be a RAINBOW movement, involving all sectors… Continue

I even know a place that has 400 acres in Texas. They have the resources to repair the land. Its pretty bad from what I heard. Devastation. I got so many places to shoot for that. I could start a whole news agency on that alone. But my priority is mushrooms and fungi research and then aquaponics. Moving forward with solutions is funner to report, but solutions are hard to sell. Weird how it works that way. People see solutions on TV it makes them feel powerless. They say to themselves, " Oh thats a great invention, to bad I cant afford to do it" See a problem they feel powerful. That is the paradox of TV.

Oh well lets see, here are my top list of international eco villages that I need to explore. Tahiti, Thailand , san miguel mexico, Baja, Ashland Oregon. There are others but these are international.

My favorite land development choice is somewhere in the Georgia Florida border. Swamp and wetlands. Fresh water prawns. It would be nice to go with you and check out these demonstration sites.

Welcome Meldrc! Great to see you here on Transition U.S. "... positive & hope-giving to stand for, in a world that seems increasingly scary & unstable.." -- That's the spirit...

Come and see the new US Transition Map we rolled out this past weekend. As this page develops, it will become a map of U.S. and World Transition resources. All 50 states are now active. Many state sites are brand new! Go to TEXAS and sign in. Invite others. Enter some of your local events. Start Discussions. Make Transition! Have fun!
