Hidden virus

We have our own personal computer at home. Each of different brands and models. But what makes sense in comparing the performance of a computer from one to another? This is what I found when I bump into Speedypc. It helps my computer's performance a lot better than the usual. SpeedyPC is your solution for a slow, cluttered, and error-ridden computer. Some points in computer system that affects its performance are the… Continue

"Boeing to mass-produce record-breaking 39.2 percent efficiency solar cell"

One of the things we need for a "high road transition", one that is comparitively peaceful and leaves us with a intact and vibrant society, is good and realistically affordable solar power systems.

Well, this is at least a step in that direction.

"Sustainable Growh is an oxymoron" - "eventually, we have to learn to live off the sun in real time."

A article relevant to our interests appeared in metafilter today.

Sustainable growth is an oxymoron

" Whether we’ve reached peak oil or not, we’ve certainly reached the peak of oil that’s reasonably easy to extract from Earth. Otherwise, why are we drilling in 5,000 feet of water through another 13,000 feet of rock in the Gulf of Mexico? Why are we…

We face a rocky few decades ahead folks. The cheap oil age people aren't going to change their minds until the last possible moment, and they will happily kick millions and millions of people under the bus to keep their lifestyle.…

Decent atrticle about the implications of the IEA announcement that peak oil happened in 2006

I thought this was a pretty good article - and not just because it essentially repeats our corncerns about the end of cheap oil, but because it's clear, readable, and offers plenty of usable quotes.

Community Currency magazine now out

The Community Currency magazine is offered to the movement as a way of building internal coherence. It is aimed at practitioners and users of alternative and local means of exchange.

The magazine is free, but its existence is precarious. Rather than paying journalists with advertising revenue, networkers and experts write for the magazine because they know that's where the audience is. We concentrate on things which are actually…
