Nowadays we can also notice a renewed interest concerning death, especially towards
funeral rites. The new rites all carry the characteristics of contemporary culture
and are, as it is, representations of it. They can show the strength as well as the
weaknesses of a culture. For that matter authentic rites form an important part of
the cultural inheritance of a nation.
