Research: Economy 4.0 Looking at the difficulty of the challenges that confront us, it is easy to go into denial or become frustrated or cynical. This leads us to ask, in our current research project on the "Transformation of Capitalism":
How can we create an economy that generates well-being for all? Here are four starting points to address this challenge:
- Shifting the structure of awareness from ego-system to eco-system
- Shifting the structure of institutions to work in more distributed, dialogic, and co-creative ways
- Shifting the flow of capital from areas in society where we have too much to areas where we have too little
- Shifting the heart to catalyze a global movement

Berlin Global Forum: Web Participation June 18+19, 2012 - Berlin, Germany
Society 4.0: Pioneering Profound Practices of Personal, Organizational, and Societal Renewal. Our focus for the 2nd Presencing Global Forum is to create a global community of practice around awareness-based social technologies like presencing, with an intent to pioneer pathways for a society that is more sustainable, inclusive, and aware: Society 4.0.
In order to include as many people as possible from around the globe, we will use a video streaming technology. Participants can watch the Forum from their computer and then participate through small virtual groups and social media channels.
We also invite larger groups of 5 or more people to create "Hubs", organizational and/or regional hot spots of community. We will provide each Hub with tools and processes to help facilitate a localized, scaled version of the Presencing Forum in your home town (based on live-video streaming from Berlin and Local Living Lab sessions).

MIT IDEAS China The MIT IDEAS program will launch in China this year! The goal of the IDEAS program is to create a platform for next generation leaders from all sectors (government, corporate and NGO) to co-innovate prototypes for a Society 4.0. During the 9-month program participants are using U-based action learning techniques to develop prototype initiatives across sectors and organizational boundaries. In its third year of delivery in Indonesia, and its second in the Philippines, IDEAS will this year be launched in China with a group of senior leaders in Chinese government, state owned enterprises (SOE), civil society organizations, and universities.
Social Presencing Theater: June 16, 2012 - Berlin, Germany Arawana Hayashi will teach a one-day workshop that provides a training in applying embodiment practices and Social Presencing Theater in leadership and change work. Participants practice four forms - the Twenty Minute Dance, the Village, Duet, and Field Dance to enhance an experiential understanding of Theory U. These forms are the basis for Social Presencing Theater. By embodying and using non-verbal techniques to inquire into "stuck" situations in our personal and organizational life, surprising insights and possibilities arise.

This practice allows participants to move through the different phases of the U-Process, and access deeper levels of self-knowledge, and to connect this knowledge to concrete action steps.
