MIMIC THIS! When you get invited to events 3000 miles away (or 20 of them just across town), use COPY & PASTE with the really interesting events to seed your own community's plans for similar events. Why start from scratch.... Beg, borrow and mimic! More....

Hello Theodor. There are Requests for Proposals for the area of Memorial Coliseum. I hope to be part of a group making a proposal for the outside of the building to make cob structures, water-savings swales, possibly some tensile fabric shelters and plantings of useful flora. Our intent is to make the area attractive, in line with the Blazers idea of memorializing Jumptown, a jazz area which was leveled to build the Coliseum and to showcase Oregon plants and crafts. A proposal for inside is already on record: a market. The deadline has been moved out to January. You can find out about it by searching Jumptown Portland I think. Mary
Hi Theodor,
Upon your request for more info on "transitional stress" I added a few more website addresses on my page...take a look to see if it helps in your search...I believe more discussions will start soon...Pat
Theodor: Portland is one of the reasons that I thought to start Cascadia.
Ecotrust is based in Portland, and I have thought them to be one of the
most local organizations in the Northwest. Years ago, when you could
join the "Salmon Nation" on-line, I did and received a bumper sticker
which ws red. I kept in on my vehicle until it faded white.
We all need to understand that our communities have been marginalized
with the advent of consumerism, corporate greed and our ineffective
government. Mark Lakemon, who began City Repair", has been addressing
this problem for quite a few years now. He actually came to our island,
Guemes several years back and gave a presentation which had an effect
for awhile.
Anyway, thank you for joining. We are hoping to have a festival up here
and maybe I can convince Mark to come up again. Portland is a ways,
but we are quite accessible by train and local bus. Of course, that is
if you are interested in any of this.
