MIMIC THIS! When you get invited to events 3000 miles away (or 20 of them just across town), use COPY & PASTE with the really interesting events to seed your own community's plans for similar events. Why start from scratch.... Beg, borrow and mimic! More....

Hi Lindsay,
We've moved from Arlington to Dayton VA (half an hour from Staunton) and are interested in local resilient community initatives. I've become active in John Robb's new photowiki (MiiU.org) for resilient places, and have created a profile of Dayton at http://MiiU.org/wiki/Dayton . We're interested in exploring permaculture and 3D printing opportunities here - will welcome any ideas or connections you may have on this. Hope you and/or others there can add pages to MiiU as well on resiliency-related initiatives in the Staunton area!
I'm glad to see some Transition activity here in Virginia. I live up I-81 a bit from you - in Frederick County (Winchester). I'm anxiously looking forward to see what comes of Transition Staunton.
I've made some feeble attempts to get something here, but I'm not exactly what you'd call a people person. I'm more of a solver than an organizer. As the great philospher once said, 'A man's got to know his limitations'. If there's anything I can do to help you out, please let me know.
On the national level, I've been active in the past with the Transition Ham Radio group. If you're interested in incorporating Ham Radio into Transition Staunton, I can definitely help there.
Welcome Lindsay. Great to see your interest in Transition!
http://transitionus.ning.com/group/linktransitionvirginiausa is your link to Transition Virginia. Feel free to join in the activities. Use the COMMENT WALL to say Hello to the others. Reinforce the good things they are doing. Mention something you're interested in. Ask a question. Start a discussion. Let me know if you would like to be an Admin on this page to help build and maintain your group's Resume. Have fun!
One more thing, would you be interested in declaring Transition Staunton Augusta in our registry of organizations supporting Transition and Sustainability If so, it would be enlightening to all our members if you would consider adding a link to http://transitionstaunton.org/ -- here's the form http://transitionus.ning.com/groups/group/new. Let me know if you have questions about the details. You can see all our groups at http://transitionus.ning.com/groups.
