Les, thanks for info on the Group Registry pages, fascinating array of people. While I am indeed a Baha'i at this time I would like to learn a little more about how this site and Transition in general work before committing to a group herein. more peace, Sam

Thank you for the welcome. Marilyn is dynamically involved in the community in very real ways. There are many avenues to explore and people to meet. I'm looking forward to more interaction with Green Everett.. Thanks for the connection.

Make an entry for Baha'i Faith? Sure. But where? I am still on dialup here in the boonies so haven't messed around on these Transition sites much. Yet. (I am in a library at the moment and have to leave but will check this site again soon).

Hi Les,

Wow I am so sorry to hear that you were in an accident. I hope you and your wife are feeling better...I send you both my blessings. No worries that we can't meet tomorrow. October sounds good, let me know when you'll be around again. Enjoy your trip to Europe. Hope you and your wife get well.

Very Much so. I advise a group called D.A.N

see doanytrhingnice.org They could support this and I feel need direction and there is potential for growth . I could introduce you to the leaders directly. Once they have a direction and focus they will act on their own...

Thanks. I appreciate the comment. I feel there is hope, tho. My son returned from his college orientation weekend today and brought with him the book he was given there. All incoming freshman attending Western Washington Univ. are to read M. Pollan's " The Omnivore's Dilemma". !! Wow, was I impressed. The wave of the future I hope. :)

Hi, Les. Arthur was kind enough to invite me to Transition U.S. He must have tuned in to my thoughts: i was thinking of contacting him and you about starting a new business venture: Community Conscious Media (website in teh works). Of course that's not transition per se, but IS tangentially related.

Dear Les, thank you for your warm welcoming! I can't wait to see you again soon, likely in Europe? And I will be in the US this next Jan. Love. Jean-François

Thanks Les. I'm kind of 'on the road' these days, so I don't have my own computer. Installing Skype on a borrowed computer wouldn't be cool, but land line call is fine. Center of Change has no URL either, ( except http://transitionus.ning.com/group/centerofchange ) but when I get more settled, I hope to set up a Linux or BSD server in LaCenter, KY.

Heh...less barn, more yard. We never actually had a farm. Just sequential moves to more and more desperately run-down rural rentals. It was like a nightmare caused by eating too much homemade seitan while reading Dante's Inferno with Green Acres playing in the background. (Dang, that's not half bad, actually. I think I'm saving that for jacket copy, lol)

Thanks for the note, Les. I've often thought about writing about my childhood. It would certainly make for a rather interesting twist on the humor-essay/dysfunctional childhood memoir. Maybe something like, "Raised By Chickens, Ignored By Wolves." lol

I am open to collaboration...that is what it is trying to facilitate. Some of the basics are up on the g-catalyst.com check it out and get back to me...I just met up with some folks running the Berkshare Program in Mass.

Hello Les! G-Catalyst is in the researching phase...seeing how it could best integrate with the local currency type movement...

Thanks, Les. I'm making a post about Transition Towns. Could I use the "mulling map" as a graphic?

Well, i am involved in alot of initiatives in our area. On a board of a local government sponsered ICLEI campaign to reduce greenhouse gas by 10% in 5 years, to board of local Clean Valley Council, involved in initiating LETS trading system as well as hour banking and local permaculture and local cool cities coalition. i would like to bring a bunch of the various initiatives together under one umbrella and transition seems the most logical.
